vx220, 2.2 litres n/a the car has recently passed its mot so has a long one of about 10 months and also 5 months tax, very low mileage for its age at 37K The car is in great condition no stone chips, no cracks to the bodywork, no bubbling of paint and the wheels are all very good condition, the interior is very tidy apart from a small tear in the drivers side seat bolser which is very common. For the Mot it failed on a front ball joint so i had both fronts changed and also the handbrake readjusted. The car runs perfectly and has been so reliable ive never had one thing go wrong with it, for a car of its nature its surprisingly very good on fuel, tax and insurance and is very comftable once you master getting in and out, i use the car on a daily basis and it is always locked in a garage at night so hasnt been left out in all the bad weather. This car has had alot of money spent on it, it started life as a silver vx220 but i have had it sprayed in a beautifull 3 stage pearl white paint as they never made a vx220 in white and in my opinion it looks amazing, its just plain white to look at it but when the sun comes out and hits it theres lots of glittery pearl in it. This is the rare and sought after manual gearbox which offers better driver control and economy. We have 3 children and purchased this car for general family duties and local commuting. The car has 1 previous owner who is a mature University Lecturer. This car has been fantastic for all our needs and we have had zero problems with it. The car has no known faults mechanically, drives faultlessly and needs nothing except road Tax. Now the children are entering there teens my wife needs a larger car. We have kept the car to high standards as did the previous owner. The car has had a full valet and is the only preparation needed or required for this sale. We have checked with Parkers vehicle valuations for reference only and the car is valued at £1395 for a `good condition` private sale example and £1995+ from a dealer. Engine & mechanicals The engine is the powerful and smooth petrol 2.5 V6. The engine has been serviced from new and has no faults at all. The car has full service history, the cam belt was changed at 80,000 miles and has another 70,000 miles before a cam belt change is needed. There are no knocks or taps coming from the internal engine parts in either low or high revs. There are no oil leaks and apart from when the engine oil is changed the oil never requires to be topped up. There`s no smoke discharged from the exhaust when the car is started first time in the morning or at any point of the day during use. There’s no oil sludge on the oil cap when it’s removed and there is no smell of fuel within the water coolant reservoir. The gearbox is the rare manual type and has no faults. The gears all engage smoothly & there are no noises. When driving the gears pull the car as they should both smooth, quiet & without effort. When driving the car both in rural and urban areas the car is fantastic, the car drives straight and true and does not pull either to the left or right. There are no warning lights on the dashboard display when the car is in use at any point. We have had a new battery fitted in the past few months that comes complete with warranty until 05/06/2011 Interior Description The interior is in fantastic condition and has had a full valet ready for the new owner. My wife is a non smoker so there are no stains or burns in the seats or roof lining. There are NO tares, rips or damage to any of the seats. The car has multi function air-conditioning, the air-conditioning can be used in the front and rear and can also be directed independently from driver or passenger side, the air-conditioning works perfectly and is ice cold. The electric windows/mirrors & seat work correctly and without fault. There are no dashboard warning lights on display at any point of the cars use and every electrical item functions correctly. Traffic Master is fitted but subscription is required. The rear seats fold down correctly and open up masses of extra space. The rear load cover is present and functions correctly. The only faults with the interior are that the rear door cigarette trays are missing (removed by my youngest son and lost), the drivers cigarette ash tray will not open but as we do not smoke this has never been a problem but could be easily fixed. The glove box lock is broken, the glove box opens and the lock is present however a new lock would be required if the box needs to be locked. These are the only working faults on the entire car. Exterior Body The body work is in superb original condition. The car is HPI clear and non of the panels have been replaced or painted since new. All the panels & gaps are straight and true. The body work is the most visible point of any car & is the point at which most people judge a car. The car is a 2001 model so there are some minor scratches and marks as is to be expected. There are a few scratches/scuff marks on the rear bumper from general boot use and a scratch that has had touch up pen applied by the past owner. (This is the only touch up on the entire car). The front bumper has 2 minor scratch/scuff marks but again these could be easily sorted if required. There are a couple car park marks on the driver/passenger door, we had a quote of £75 to have all the marks and scuffs removed by a professional panel doctor but never got round to it. Personally I think the car is fine as it is & nothing stands out, 90% of the marks/scratches mentioned are only visisble on very close inspection however I have mentioned them in my honest opinion. WHEELS & TYRES All the tyres are virtually new as seen in the pictures. All the alloys are in immaculate condition. TOW BAR The car has a factory fitted removable tow bar that is currently removed but can be installed within seconds. The previous owner advised me he towed a very small general utility trailer to the tip approx 3 times. The previous owner is a University Lecturer & a genuine gentleman, I am sure that if the winning bidder needed to confirm this he would be happy to advise if contacted. We have never used the tow bar so I can guarantee this car has not towed any significant weight or any type of caravan at all. These car’s were the preferred towing vehicle of the caravan world and this car would tow forever. It’s hard to find a genuine manual Omega Estate that has not towed previously so this low mileage car has many years of towing life available if required & a rare find. The bungs in the floor have all been welded, engine bay fully stich welded, along with every other seam in the car.it will have feet either ready for a weldin or bolt in cage. It has been connverted to run f28 gear box but easily reversable. The underside is is 3/4 stripped ready for stiching There is still work to be done on the shell hense the starting price !!!
